Best Food Facts

Is high-fructose corn syrup a major cause of obesity in the U.S.? Is food grown and produced in the U.S. as safe as, or safer than, food grown outside the U.S.? Is it true that many U.S. farmers would not be able to make a living raising corn and other high-acreage field crops without government subsidies?

Best Food Facts is a website that provides balanced, objective answers to these and other common food system questions to help consumers form their own opinions and make informed choices. CFI has partnered with credentialed, third-party experts who use new or existing research to provide credible information and correct misinformation on popular food system issues. Best Food Facts experts also rate the truth of their respective issue using a consumer-friendly scale, called the Food Integrity Index. The site provides a quick overview of the issue and summarizes each expert’s response to provide a user-friendly “at a glance” view. For those who want more information, a link is provided to in-depth research. Consumers also may submit questions for consideration.
