Since 2007, The Center for Food Integrity (CFI) has conducted annual broad-based consumer research to measure and track attitudes toward the U.S. food system with the goal of better understanding consumer attitudes on key food issues. Each wave has built on the previous and has culminated into a greater understanding of consumer attitudes and the challenges faced by industry stakeholders to change those attitudes and build trust in today’s food system.
Our 2011 research has taken this process to the next level - by testing the trust model, messages and programs with specific segments of the consuming public. We must fundamentally redefine who we are and what we do in a way that builds public trust and the findings from this year’s pioneering approach will help us establish a solid foundation of initiatives that CFI members and others can use to engage with the segment of the population most capable of driving social change.
